6. Boardmasters poster.

Audience: People who enjoy music events ages from 16+ of any gender, also people who are fans of the musicians mentioned on the front of the poster. People who surf may also be a target audience as the event is a surf and music festival and the background of the leaflet may get there attention.
Purpose: To inform people of this event upcoming, the people that are performing and the details. Also to persuade people to get tickets for this festival.
Format: 'Boardmasters' is printed in large bold letter this being the first thing people will notice. The background of the poster is waves with a surf board and guitar on the side, this represents the festival and what its about- music and surfing. The main feature on the poster is the acts that will be at the festival. These are the most important things so have to be clear to people. The large acts that are headlining are written in  large letters of different fonts for each band this will be eye catching as will make the band easy recognisable. The poster has many colours so that it will stand out on bill boards and when people pass by will look appealing.

On the poster word play is used as at the top it says ' first wave of acts announced' linking the surf part of the festival to announcing the acts. This also implies that there is more acts to come and this is just the start of it, this will intrigue people into wanting to know what other acts and performing and keep them interested.

How has technology influenced this text? technology has allowed each bands logo to be printed on the poster correctly so people will be able to recognise the band.

Had the gender of the audience influenced the text? The poster features a surf board as is also a surf festival this may be influenced by a male audience however female surf too therefore isn't influenced by a gender. The acts lined up for the festival and printed on the poster could have been influenced by a gender as many of the bands and not typical female bands such as boy bands and music appealing to just girls. However again the gender hasn't largely been influenced by a gender as the festival and musicians appeal to anyone.
